Described by Gault & Millau as “a Lafite in the Languedoc”, “the only Grand Cru of the Midi” by Hugh Johnson and “Exceptional” by Robert Parker, Mas de Daumas Gassac have been the benchmark for Languedoc wines for over 30 years.
I was privileged to visit the famed estate and meet it’s owners, accompanied by fellow wine importer Gary Gubbins, as part of our Bon Voyage around the Languedoc last year.
Meeting and greeting us was none other than Samuel Guibert, eldest son of the legendary Aimé Guibert and master vigneron at Daumas Gassac. Within 5 minutes of arriving Samuel had us in a 4×4 and began a personal tour of the estate that we’re delighted to share with you now.
