It’s great to be back. After a well earned rest we can’t wait to get this year well and truly underway. The Christmas break was fantastic, highlights on the wine front included my first experience of a seriously old Burgundy, a 1929 Clos de Vougeot. More about that due on the blog shortly. But Mike introducing his 2, 3 and 5 year old kids to Austin Powers, The Spy Who Shagged Me, was every bit as memorable.
Shortly after the Christmas weekend we were all brought to our knees with a nasty cold brought to the house by one of the aforementioned toddlers, so unfortunately that lovely case of wine I put together before leaving work on the 23rd remains half full. With my health and strength returning to normal I only see one way of getting rid of a half case and that’s one of the many things I have to look forward to over the next week or two. Some wine tasting to catch up on obviously.
Now that we’re getting back to porridge, the excitement for the year ahead has been smacking us in the face in the form of new ideas. Feel free to send any of yours our way. The next phase of the website is underway, the launch of a brand new website separate to Curious Wines is also set to be officially unveiled, and plans for more wine tastings and courses are beginning to blossom. This is all while we strive to better our already fantastic range of wines, service and the value we have on offer.
Here’s to all of you for a successful, but above all, a happy and healthy 2011…
