Mature “petit chateau” Bordeaux from the best vintage in a generation

Great value, mature Bordeaux

WE FIRST GOT OUR HANDS on this cracking wee Côtes de Bourg in 2012 and just gushed over the richness and generosity of fruit. It was the first time we really got the fuss over the Bordeaux vintage par excellence 2010, and it quickly became a favourite with you as well, reaching #9 in our top-selling reds of 2015..

Château Roc de Breuil is a “petit chateau” run with passion and precision by Corinne Baudouin, third generation mother-to-daughter owner of the estate’s 7-hectares of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, the latter two giving structure to the soft, pillowy Merlot in this vintage.

This is not for laying down, reaching what we’d consider its peak now. Rich and chunky with plum and fruitcake to the fore, melt-in-the-mouth tannins and a myriad of secondary flavours from cedarwood to cigar box – it’s great value, mature Bordeaux, without the cost and patience of Job required for cellaring!

So buy up and drink up – we’re sure that won’t be a problem.
