An elegant garnet-red colour and an expressive, fruity and meaty nose. This wine offers a huge aromatic range of little black fruits, blackberries and blueberries, with hints of grilled almond and vanilla notes. The palate is pleasant combining elegance and strength.

Like most Minervois, this wine has undergone Carbonic Maceration, which involves fermenting whole grapes without crushing them. Most of the juice is fermented while still inside the grape. The resulting wine is fruity with low tannins.

Standing on a plain at the foot of the Montagne Noire, this 17th century château is still run by the Agnel family. The Syrah and Grenache vines face directly south on argilo-calcareous soils. Philippe Agnel creates very elegant, remarkably constructed wines each vintage, produced from very rigorously selected plots to achieve great Minervois.
