Pale straw yellow in colour with golden tones. The nose is fresh with aromas of tropical fruits (banana, pineapple). In the mouth it is fresh, lively and invigorating with flavours of nettles and gooseberry.

The D.O. was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture in 1980. It was the first Denomination of Origin to be approved in the Region of Castilla y León, after years of hard work in order to earn acknowledgement and protection for its trademark grape variety, Verdejo.
