This zesty Sauvignon bursts in your mouth with salivating acidity and vibrant concentration. Opening with fresh pineapple flesh, followed by refreshing limes and cut grass. Lime and grannysmith apple typify the mid-palate, leading into a dry finish, which lingers with freshness.
A wine that’s winning lots of awards under the hand of Frank Manifold, previously of Cloudy Bay vineyard, this is the product of a dream 2009 Sauvignon Blanc harvest. Waipara Springs is the new Cloudy Bay at half the price!
Jamie Goode, 2008 vintage, Oct. 08 (92 points) - "This is a cracking Sauvignon with some Loire-like minerality and well as focused grassy, fruity, blackcurrant bud aromatics. The palate is concentrated with lovely bright grassy, herby fruit and lovely textural richness, finishing quite minerally with high acidity. Lively, intense and well balanced. 92/100."
Waipara Springs is a boutique vineyard and winery located in the heart of the Waipara Valley. Planted in the early 1980’s the vineyard contains some of the oldest vines in the valley providing the entirely estate grown wines with a depth and intensity that only old vines can produce.
