Waipara Springs Riesling 2008

From a remarkable vintage delivering very high natural acidity, this Riesling has aromas of crisp green apples, passion-fruit, elderflower and hints of spice. Zesty orange and ripe mandarin flavours ensue on the palate.

Classically styled with fresh fruit acidity balanced with natural fruit sweetness, this Riesling can be enjoyed as an aperitif or matched with spicy foods. 

Fruit from younger vines spent a short time in older barrels adding mid-palate weight (30g/l/r.s.).

Waipara Springs is a boutique vineyard and winery located in the heart of the Waipara Valley. Planted in the early 1980’s the vineyard contains some of the oldest vines in the valley providing the entirely estate grown wines with a depth and intensity that only old vines can produce.

The head winemaker is Frank Manifold, ex-winemaker at Cloudy Bay.
