Produced by the talented Duncan McTavish, who has blended distinct parcels to create an elegant complex wine with an emphasis on texture, structure and longevity with ripe flavours.
Great with a rack of lamb.
"This is produced naturally with minimum intervention which allows for a great expression of the fruit, cherries, raspberries, plums. There’s also a gamey character you often get with classic Pinot Noir styles. Great acidity with smooth silky tannins. Very classy. Good value at €20? For what you’re getting, I think so." This classic style of Pinot has been produced from some of the oldest vines in the Waipara Valley. Hand selected, de-stemmed and fermented with natural yeasts, the separate batches were aged in French oak barriques for 15 months before undergoing natural malolactic fermentation and bottling in the winter. This fragrant and elegant wine has characters of cherry cola, forest floor and bright primary fruit, ripe tannins and vibrant acidity.
This wine has the structural capacity for a decade of cellaring. Cellar with the confidence of screw cap.
