Wine Spectator: 89 points

The winemaker behind the Reserva Especial is Felipe Müller, who scooped Winemaker of the Year at the Guía de Vinos de Chile 2010 Awards. This wine was made entirely from grapes of Tabali's own vineyard located in the coastal area of the Limarí Valley in the north of Chile.

Deep red colour with violet hints, elegant, ripe and rich, with different layers of black fruit, violets, black pepper, smoke and spicy aromas. On the palate it is full bodied, with soft and velvety tannin, the selection of the French oak is fantastically integrated with the fruit resulting in a very complex and deep wine with great structure and a remarkably long finish.

Blend: Syrah 74%, Cabernet Sauvignon 12% and Merlot 14%.

Situated in one of the northernmost vineyard regions in Chile, approaching the edge of the Atacama Desert, Tabali commands a unique location in the heart of the Limari Valley. This truly distinctive range of wines consist of great elegance, restraint and minerality.

2008 Vintage: "This dark, gamy red boasts plenty of acidity to back the damson plum, kirsch and cassis fruit that's layered with hints of spice cake, tar, cured olive and smoke. 89 points." Nathan Wesley, Wine Spectator, 30th September 2012
