Santa Gloria Pinot Noir Reserve 2015

Bio Bio, Chile

Striking cherry colour with an ample, generous nose of crushed raspberry, violet and beetroot. The satiny, mercurial palate is deliciously sweet-fruited, with supple tannins, clean acidity and perky notes of blackberry, cola and cranberry. Gorgeous!

Drink on its own or partner with with beef stir-fry or soy-glazed tuna steaks.

Bio Bio, one of Chile's most southerly wine valleys, has come out of nowhere in the 21st century to be the country's most exciting, most talked-about region, increasingly respected for its bright, clean renditions of cool-climate wines such as Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir. Sitting at 36° south (the same latitude as California's Monterey in the northern hemisphere) its vineyards are mostly at altitudes of just 50-150m above sea level.

Santa Gloria (Alicia) is a past winner of 'Chilean Winery of the Year.' Curious Wines introduced the range to the Irish market in the late noughties and the wines have since gone from strength to strength on the basis of their genuinely excellent price-quality-ratio.

"Raspberry cordial and a hint of mint, crisp and fresh.  Get fishy with salmon, snapper or hake."
