Quinta Seara d'Ordens LBV Port 2012 (Half Bottle)

Douro, Portugal

Intense, full-bodied and complex, this Late Bottled Vintage Port is worth the wait.
Produced annually with the best of the local Douro grapes available, this LBV is aged for three years between stainless steel and large oak barrels. Deep and velvety with decadent flavours of dried black fruit, oriental spices and chocolate, this is a heavy-weight Port.
Pair with aged hard cheeses, Stilton, or (if you're really bad) really good dark chocolate.
The Leite family settled in Poiares Seara, in Portugal's now renowned Douro wine and Port region, in the late 18th century, immediately planting vineyards, olive groves and almond trees, some of which survive to this day. Quinta Seara d'Ordens was derived from the military commander son, who based himself at the estate (quinta) and gave orders (ordens) to the soldiers under his command.
Over two hundred years later the estate remains in the Leite family, with João Leite Moreira the latest custodian overseeing production of high quality DOC Douro wines and continuing a long tradition of producing outstanding Ports.
