Stunning aged Tawny, from an assemblage of vintages and barrel batches with a minimum age of 20 years.
Rich and decadent, with pronounced, layered aromas of toffee, dates, orange peel, vanillin, star anise and walnut. Long in both years and length on the palate, the viscous syrup bursts with sweet caramel, honey and butterscotch, with date, fig and honey, following. On the length, malt, orange peel, hazelnut and cedar come through on a wonderful, protracted finish.
To be enjoyed only in the best of company, we would politely suggest. Should be served slightly chilled in summer and at room temperature in winter.
The Leite family settled in Poiares Seara, in Portugal's now renowned Douro wine and Port region, in the late 18th century, immediately planting vineyards, olive groves and almond trees, some of which survive to this day. Quinta Seara d'Ordens was derived from the military commander son, who based himself at the estate (quinta) and gave orders (ordens) to the soldiers under his command.
Over two hundred years later the estate remains in the Leite family, with João Leite Moreira the latest custodian overseeing production of high quality DOC Douro wines and continuing a long tradition of producing outstanding Ports.
