Clean, crisp style with bracing grapefruit and white peach flavours to the fore, and cool touches of sparkly minerals and lime. Bright, invigorating and thirst quenching.

Beautiful pre-dinner tonic or foil for whitebait fritters, crab or roast chicken.

Nortico is grown and made on the south bank of the Minho River, from plots so small they are known as 'jardins' - 'gardens' in Portuguese. The local soils are classic granite and schist and, while the climate is fairly warm, the region is soaked by a whopping 2,000ml of rain annually - even Ireland gets less than this! Unlike many other Minho wines, Nortico has no added Carbon Dioxide - its slight spritz is totally natural.

Albariño is a hugely-popular, early-drinking, crisp variety that is native to north-western Iberia, especially Galicia in Spain and Minho in Portugal. An amazing match for the bounteous seafood of the region, the variety is known as Alvarinho in Portugal, where it is often (though decreasingly) bottled with a squirt of Carbon Dioxide, for added pep.
