In 1971, the Guibert family bought an old farm called Mas de Daumas Gassac, 30 mins drive north of the Mediterranean. However, it was the discovery of red glacial soils that led to the planting of what would become the Grand Cru vineyards of the Languedoc.

The estate now includes 52 separate vineyard plots, each surrounded by dense garrigue and forest. The vines are farmed with respect to preserve the natural environment and the grapes are hand harvested.
