Lovable charmer with oodles of raspberry and plum fruit spiced up with a little tapenade and wrapped up in soft, sweet tannins.

Try with cheese and onion beefburger.

Made from 100% unoaked Syrah (often seen as Shiraz) grown in the southern French super-appellation of PAY DOC, which covers most of Languedoc and Roussillon. The quirky label design, which dates from 1967, is a creation of current owners and brothers Frederick and Benoit Lavau's grandfather - the boys found it by chance in a dusty old cupboard!

In 1964, the Lavau family founded a company that produced wine from bought-in grapes and then sold it on in the bulk wine market. In 2000, Frederic and Benoit took control and the boys totally changed the direction of the business, deciding to start bottling their wine under the present Lavau label.
