The Barossa has a rich history with fortifieds, dating back to the beginning of the region. It’s through this long history that the Barossa has been able to maintain old fortified stocks, some dating back more than 100 years. In fact Australia was the second largest exportor of wines to the UK back in the 1930s and this was mainly all fortifieds as this was a drink preferred by the English. It remains the perfect way to finish a dinner party.
James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion has rated Langmeil Winery with five stars, placing it amongst the very top echelon of Australian Wineries.
