Pale straw-lemon appearance with fine, delicate scents and a fresh, fruity palate of citrus and apple, with a hint of honeydew melon on the finish. Very crisp, clean and gluggable - lovely!

Drink with pasta carbonara or a smoked salmon and avocado sushi.

Tenuta Salvaterra is a modern winery in Italy's fertile Veneto region. This Soave is grown at 300m (good for freshness) and is vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel, which is perfect for easy drinking styles like this. The vineyards face south, and so the resulting wine offers unusually deep flavours.

Soave, made from Garganega grapes grown on the hillsides east of Verona, is arguably Italy's most famous white wine. Modern Soaves must be at least 70% Garganega, supported sometimes by Chardonnay and/or Trebbiano di Soave (aka Verdicchio). Trebbiano Toscana and Pinot Bianco have of late been banned from Soave. Though little known, Soave Spumante (fully sparkling) and Recioto di Soave (very sweet) are legitimate, legal wine styles.
