Plump and fruit-driven style that shows enticing scents of yellow apple and peach, with a weighty, round wash of spiced peach, beeswax and cinnammon. Gentle, warm personality - a wine that hugs!

Try with Portuguese pork and clams, or any meaty fish.

In classic Douro style, Quinta do Judeu's white Corgo da Régua is a blend of a number of native and complementary grapes - Rabigata, Malvasia Fina, Sercial, Gouveio and Viosinho. Winemaker Emídio Bacelar has aged his wine just briefly (two months) in neutral steel, to emphasize the terroir's natural warmth, fruit and richness.

Quinta do Judeu, which dates from 1932 and is owned by the Alves de Carvalho family, takes its name from the Roman-Jewish statue that keeps watch from its roof. The quinta includes 3 estates (27 hectares in total), planted solely to Port grapes and with vines ranging from 5-85 years.

The starkly-beautiful Douro region in northern Portugal is famous for its fortified wine, Port, but in actual fact production here is evenly split between Port and table wines. The terraced, vertiginous slopes that characterise the region are composed of unforgiving schist and granite, a terroir that is ideal for the production of high-quality wine
