Château Angludet Margaux 2011

Bordeaux, France

Château Angludet 2011 stands out in what was a challenging vintage in Bordeaux. Thanks to perfectly controlled extraction during fermentation and careful review of every vat across the three grape varieties concerned, the critical components of aromatic intensity, volume, mouthfeel and length were delivered in perfect harmony. This balance will make the wine ready for drinking while rather young – between 6 and 8 years, but also gives it interesting cellaring potential thanks to its wonderfully dense structure.
Final blend: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot.
Surrounded as it is by Grand Cru Classé properties, Château Angludet would almost certainly have been
included in the famous 1855 Classification, had the property not been broken up as part of an inheritance settlement. In an act of faith (given the property's state of decay) and belief in Angludet's potential, the Sichel family bought the estate in 1961. Since then, the Sichels have worked tirelessly to restore and improve the vineyard and cellars, giving Angludet back the reputation its exceptional terroir deserves.
Angludet's wines enjoy a worldwide reputation for their elegance, aromatic finesse and their exceptional ageing potential.
