Deep yellow-gold colour with a warm, spicy nose of honeyed peach, ginger and creamy hazelnut. The sweetish, buxom palate is generous, lush and mellow, with appealing notes of apricot and baked apple. A sublime, sumptuous offering!

Enjoy alongside pâté maison, veal and wild mushroom risotto or just on its own after dinner.

At 23 grams of residual sugar per litre, this white is rich and medium-sweet. The grapes (100% Pinot Gris - as with most Alsatian wines, this is a varietal/unblended product) were allowed to become exceptionally ripe, before being harvested by hand. A pneumatic press was used to gently crush the crop, followed by a cool fermentation in steel. The name of the wine comes from the Kintzheim castle, a thirteenth-century building that dominates the area. The local soil is a mix of quartz and gneiss.

Cave d'Orschwiller is a wine cooperative of 80 growers that is committed to sustainable winegrowing. For example, eco-friendly geothermal energy systems enable carbon neutral heating and cooling of the winery's 216 fermentation tanks. In terms of packaging, 100% of the bottles and cardboard used are made from recycled materials.
