Douro, Portugal

Buy Now:

Wonderful, lightly oaked Douro red from a superb 200 year old family Port producer.
A blend of native Douro grapes Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca plus Tinta Roriz (better known as Tempranillo), aged for four months in French oak barriques. Deep in colour and rich in flavour, this is packed with dark berries and warm winter spices. Decant for an hour or two and serve in big glasses to fully appreciate.
The Leite family settled in Poiares Seara, in Portugal's now renowned Douro wine and Port region, in the late 18th century, immediately planting vineyards, olive groves and almond trees, some of which survive to this day. Quinta Seara d'Ordens was derived from the military commander son, who based himself at the estate (quinta) and gave orders (ordens) to the soldiers under his command.
Over two hundred years later the estate remains in the Leite family, with João Leite Moreira the latest custodian overseeing production of high quality DOC Douro wines and continuing a long tradition of producing outstanding Ports.
