Keen and fetching personality, with colourful flavours of sweet black cherry, plum and spice. Nimble, juicy and very refreshing!

Pair with Manchego cheese or breaded lamb cutlets and summer salad.

Made from 100% unoaked Tempranillo, some of which is fermented by carbonic maceration, a winemaking technique most associated with the French region Beaujolais, and which gives exceptionally bright, fruity, low tannin wines. The rest of the grapes are fully de-stemmed prior to crushing, to minimise harsh tannins.

French vigneron-wine consultant Charles Serres left Bordeaux for Spain in the nineteenth century to escape the ravages of villainous vine louse Phylloxera vastatrix, which was devastating the country. In Rioja's Haro he found the perfect place to make elegant, Bordeaux-style wines; and Bodegas Carlos Serres was born in 1896.

Charles' role as winegrower-exporter makes him one of the key personalities in Rioja’s vinous history. By the early 20th century his wines were being sold in Spain, France, England, Cuba and America.
