Oh, wow, this is lovely! Bright nose, alive with sunny tropical fruit flavours, and a bouncy wash of peach, melon, banana cream and honeycomb, with persistent, fine bubbles and a fresh, dewy finish.

Delicious party or celebratory wine and goes well too with canapés and tapas.

Prosecco Spumante is a fully-sparkling white wine grown and made in northeast Italy, specifically the Veneto and Friuli regions. The grape behind the wine used to be called Prosecco but producers have in recent years reverted to the historical name, Glera, and made Prosecco the name of the legally-protected DOP (wine region), in an effort to prevent foreign imitators from stealing market share in this wildly-popular wine category.

What's the difference between Prosecco and Champagne? Sweeter, softer and juicier than Champagne, Prosecco - always from northern Italy - is tank-fermented (i.e. made in bulk) and produced from Prosecco/Glera plus other local grape varieties. Champagne is bottle-fermented (laborious and expensive) in the Champagne region of northern France, and is usually a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
