Appétit de France Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Languedoc & SW France, France

Dark and velvety, with lovely warmth and generosity. The nose is glossy black cherry, while the smooth wash is suffused with rich notes of chocolate and mulberry.
This would be amazing with Asian crispy beef!
The vibrant Appétit de France range is immediately memorable, each label showing an animal that makes a brilliant food match for the wine in question - lobster for Sauvignon, salmon for Chardonnay, pork for Merlot and (here) beef for Cabernet.
Producer Val d’Orbieu, based in Narbonne, was founded 40 years ago and has grown since to become one of France’s most pioneering wine groups, specialising in inexpensive, super-quaffable, good-looking wines from across the Languedocs's warm plains - although the Appétit wines carry the broader Vin de France title.
