Our Service
Sale or return: We will guide you on quantities, but if you still want to play it on the safe side, anything you don’t drink can be returned to us for a full refund. All that we ask is the wine is unopened and still in a sellable condition. See our sale or return service for more details.
Free delivery: We will deliver to your reception location speedily and free of charge anywhere in Ireland, usually the day before the big day to ensure it arrives in good time.
Tasting service: No doubt, you’ll want to taste before placing an order. For potential bulk orders, we will deliver anything from two bottles and up free of charge (often within 24 hours) so you can taste the wine in the comfort of your own home to ensure that they are the ones for you. All that we ask is that you cover the price of the bottles.
The personal touch: We are here to help. Our friendly, dedicated and experienced staff can suggest wines to suit your menu (or even better, food to suit your favourite wines!), all geared to your own preferences and budget. Don’t hesitate to get in touch .
Tips
How much you will need: When providing wine throughout a meal, the rule of thumb is around half a bottle per person. This may sound generous, but it does mean that you’re unlikely to run out. Expect to get 5 glasses out of each bottle (hence two and a half glasses for each person). You should get 8-9 glasses out of a bottle of bubbly.
Negotiation of corkage: Most hotels charge corkage, which is a handling fee for each bottle opened. More often than not, there is room for negotiation, so bargain hard. The hotel that wants your business the most will not stick their arm in when it comes to corkage.
Food matching: We are happy to guide you when matching your food with the right wine. It doesn’t need to be complicated. Most well-made wines are food friendly and we would not sell a wine to you if we didn’t think it was. If you are thinking of matching a red wine with meat dishes and a white wine with fish or chicken, you’re on the right track.
The red and white split: We would suggest half and half, although it may depend on how well you know your audience. Most people tend to buy in more white wine for a summer wedding.
